Without the baby for today.
Mr. T and I don't get to spend lunch together that much even if our offices are just three buildings away because either one or both of us are too swamped with work. But last Thursday, Mr. T asked me out for lunch. :)
Instead of going to Pacific Star, I thought we could take advantage of these lunch dates and check out different places around our area. And on top of my list was Commune.
Commune is located at Liberty Plaza. corner of Dela Costa and Valero. If you're familiar with the area, it is where Binalot used to be. Commune is apparently a sister company of Binalot.
I loved the interiors of Commune. I find it very fitting for a Makati CBD area. It's nice to see how they gave variations for the diners. They have the lounge type seating, bar type dining, banquet and the typical dining tables and chairs.
Though I've made reservations earlier, there were still a few empty tables available when we got there. It's always best to secure your seats so better call them nd reserve if you can.
Let's now move on with the food.
This is not your typical Caesar Salad, it has Tinapa Flakes and Itlog na Pula chunks. Surprisingly, it was very good. The combination of the ingredients were very well-balanced, and those toasted bread were also notable, perfect way to start your meal.
Top: Chicken Adobo | Bottom: Pork Adobo |
As I have mentioned, Binalot is the sister company of Commune, so it's not a surprise to see a very similar menu. Only Commune's version was an upscale one. But if one is looking for a place to have lunch or to stay after office in this area, then Commune will do the job. :)
Aside from the great ambiance, Commune is also trending because of its coffee latte art. :) |
